I will be giving a talk at the Painting Center in NY on Thursday May 14 at 5PM in conjunction with the exhibition Placing Color: Brett Baker, Kayla Mohammadi, and Carrie Patterson. These artists were kind enough to let me write the catalogue essay, which is also on the Placing Color website, which you can link to under the "Windbag Dept" category to the right. You can also buy a paper copy.
The talk will be marginally connected to the show; it will be about contemporary abstraction and the work of Robert Ryman, and how they relate. I better get to work.
Thanks to Nomi for reminding me to make an announcement here.
ALSO: Douglas Witmer will have work up in the PC at the same time!
UPDATE: (belated). Thanks to Martin at anaba and the good people at MWCapacity for their coverage and helpful comments of the Painting Center talk and and the Stumptown show. And it was great to meet Nomi and Joanne and Ed and Doug and everyone else (sorry)
